Meditation on 'O filii et filiæ'

This meditation presents the familiar melody (often sung with the text, "Ye Sons and Daughters,") four times as a cantus firmus.

1. In the right hand, with light, three-part texture.
2. In the right hand, but with chromatic harmonies below.
3. In d minor in the pedal, with some sixteenth-note motion above.
4. In A Major, also in the pedal and with sixteenth-note motion in the manuals.

The four statements of the hymn tune flow from one to another, with appropriate transitional material between. This could make a nice Eastertide prelude or communion piece.
