The Mass of Saint Jerome is a unique setting which invites the congregation to join in a through-composed version of the Mass in Latin.
Music directors who wish to expand on a congregation's repertoire of simple chant Masses, or those who wish to familiarize the people with the Latin texts, will find here a wonderful opportunity to place solid music and solid text well within their reach.
Melodies are kept as simple as possible to help facilitate congregational learning and are balanced by a more complex, rich accompaniment, slightly revised from the original edition.
The movements are harmonically and thematically related.
The Mass of Saint Jerome contains a Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, Mysterium fidei, Amen and Agnus Dei.
It is named in honor of the Doctor of the Church who was responsible for translating the Bible from the original languages into Latin.
Included on the last page of this publication are the melody line and words to all the congregation responses.
Because we give you permission to copy this page for your congregation, you only ever need to buy one copy of this music!
