Liturgical Planning
Pages for the Ordinary Form and the Extraordinary Form!
CanticaNOVA's free liturgical planning pages consist of a Liturgical Information page and a Music Suggestion page (with options for liturgical music, hymns, choral and organ music).
Planning pages for the liturgical year in the Ordinary Form are complete. The links below lead to lists of planning pages for Sundays and Feasts of Year C of the Church calendar (e.g. Advent 2021 - Feast of Christ the King 2022). To see a list for Year A or B, click on the appropriate link above.
Planning pages for the liturgical year in the Extraordinary Form are also complete. Links for these pages can be found below listed after the Ordinary Form links.
More, better music suggestions.
Music Suggestions pages begin with Liturgical music - especially music using the official texts of the Church - and continue with an expanding selection of hymns, choral music and organ music. These pages are updated every year to include brand new and more relevant suggestions, as we publish them and find them elsewhere.
Pointed texts for priests!
To assist priests in singing the three Orations for Mass (Collect, Prayer over the Offerings, Prayer after Communion), all planning pages contain these texts "pointed" according to the Solemn Tone of the Missal (the easier of the two tones). The pointing can be penciled in your sanctuary Missal, or these pages can be used to practice the chanting in preparation for Mass. For more information on using this new feature, please see the article O-rational Thinking.
