aul studied organ at Penn State University with June Miller and at The University of Texas at Austin with Frank Speller.
He has been organist at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin since 1980.
There he piloted the acquisition and installation of the Casavant Opus 3777 organ in 2001.
From 1998 to 2002, he was the producer and host of Positiv'ly Pipes, a one-hour program of pipe organ music broadcast weekly in Austin by KMFA Classical 89.5.
Since that time, he has served as Dean of the Austin Chapter of the American Guild of Organists for five years, and coordinated the chapter's successful bid to host the AGO Region VII convention in Austin in 2013.
His Prelude on Thaxted CNP Catalog #6032 was played as the prelude to the opening service of the convention.
As a composer, Paul has produced a number of pieces for organ, piano, and choir.
Some are published by Augsburg Fortress and Leupold Editions.
