ody Mead is Organist and Director of Music at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg PA.
He received his training primarily at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester; his primary teachers have included Dr. William Decker, Mary Decker, Mark Laubach, Paulo Faustini, Georgette Hutchins, and Dr. William Porter.
Prior to returning to his hometown of Bloomsburg in 2020, Cody served for six years as Director of Music at historic Saint Mary Church in Newport, RI (site of the wedding of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier), where he directed four choirs and developed a robust music program serving adults and children of all ages and backgrounds from the entire state of Rhode Island.
While in Newport, Cody also worked as an educator, coach, accompanist, and conductor with Newport Music Festival, Newport Children's Theatre, Collegium Ancora, Ecclesia Consort of New England, and Ensemble Altera.
At Wesley Church in Bloomsburg, Cody directs several choirs and oversees the Wesley Church Choral Scholars program — a partnership that provides performance and educational opportunities to students of Bloomsburg University.
He is also the founding director of the Bloomsburg Singers, a new community choir bringing new and meaningful musical opportunities to singers and music lovers in our area.
Outside of the world of music and art, Cody is currently a biology/pre-med student at Bloomsburg University with plans to become a family-medicine physician.
