The traditional Christmas text is set to a delightful new melody.
Occasional unison singing and expert part-writing by Dr. Brumby make this an easily-learned and thoroughly enjoyable addition to the Christmas repertoire.
The unobtrusive accompaniment, playable either on piano or organ, supports and amplifies the vocal lines.
Born in Melbourne in 1933, Colin Brumby graduated from the Melbourne University Conservatorium of Music in 1957, and studied advanced musical composition in Spain, London and Rome.
He was awarded one of the first Advance Australian Awards in 1981 for his services to music.
At present he is Associate Professor in the School of Music of the University of Queensland.
