The psalm refrain ["The Lord delivered me from all my fears."] and the verses [Ps 34:2-9] appear as one of the Responsorial Psalms from the Common of Martyrs.
The composer wrote this simple setting for the high school graduation Mass of his eldest daughter.
The well-set refrain matches the text beautifully, and the verses, in the style of Meinrad tones, are quite easy to sing.
Certainly a high school cantor could handle this Responsorial Psalm.
An introduction is provided, and, as usual with CNP congregational music, a box with the refrain music is included, which may be freely reproduced on worship aids.
While obviously appropriate for the celebration of martyrs, this piece could also be used as an Introit or a Communion Psalm for many other Masses.
