Give Thanks to the Lord is a lovely setting of the familiar Easter text by prestigious Chicago composer and choir director Paul French.
This text is used every year as the Responsorial Psalm for the Second Sunday of Easter [Divine Mercy Sunday], but this piece can also be used as an Entrance or Communion Processional throughout the Easter season and for other festive liturgies during the year.
Within a refrain for congregation and organ, this setting is scored for SATB choir on the three verses.
However, it is also possible to play the choral parts on organ and have a cantor sing the soprano line, making it useful as a cantor/congregational setting as well.
