Here is a pro-life song for cantor and congregation, based on the words of Saint Gianna Berretta Molla, patron saint of mothers, pediatricians and unborn children.
The refrain uses her words, "Also in suffering, let us say: Thanks be to God."
The six verses are set to an easy psalm tone.
They come from Scripture and the saints:
- James 5:13
- Psalm 7:17
- Psalm 31:9-10
- Psalm 136:1-2
- Saint Teresa of Calcutta
- Psalm 9:1-2
This setting is quite simple and could easily be sung by young cantors at a school Mass or a parish Respect Life liturgy.
