Colin Brumby is a master of beautiful and practical liturgical writing.
In familiar fashion, his Magnificat setting alternates chant phrases with homophonic SATB sections.
The ranges and vocal parts are very manageable.
The chant sections could be sung by a separate schola, by a children's choir, or simply by women and/or men of the SATB group.
If your parish chants Solemn Vespers on occasion, this would be a perfect way to involve the choir in a liturgical role, singing Brumby's setting between chanted antiphons.
This would also make an exceptional Communion motet for any Marian celebration.
A very useful, flexible piece — not to be missed!
