Description
Colin Brumby is a widely-known composer both in his native Australia and beyond.
Having written major works for the Queensland Opera Company and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, he shows in this piece that he can also write wonderful music in the smaller forms.
Dr. Brumby is a master of canonic writing, and From All That Dwell is a perfect canon at the unison, ideally suited for children's voices.
The text is the familiar paraphase of Psalm 117 by Issac Watts, "From all that dwell below the skies, Let the Creator's praise arise...".
Because the organ accompaniment does not slavishly double the voice parts, this anthem makes a marvelous transition piece for experienced young singers to move into independent repertiore.
An ideal selection for your elite young choristers!
